Valentine’s Day Party

With my family, give us any reason to celebrate, and we are in!   Parties are a serious thing around this house,  so of course, we are celebrating Valentine’s Day.  The girls were so excited, and really wanted to throw a party, and invite their cousins along since they love them oh so dearly.  This DIY Valentine’s Day Party was inspired by conversation heart stickers I found and thought they would be a super adorable theme and an easy way to decorate.  Pink patterned gift wrap draped over the table, topped with white plates and candy pink striped napkins set the base for this pretty table.

I created a DIY conversation heart banner (you can find the free printable below).   The conversation hearts are too cute with their adorable sayings.  I printed the hearts on cardstock, cut them out and glued onto some pink twine.  I also strung a DIY pom pom garland below, (which I will post about real soon).  They both turned out looking fantastic, and made the perfect sweet backdrop for our little party. IMG_5545

I used the conversation heart stickers as part of the place settings, and just stuck them onto the napkin beside some Valentine’s snack mix, (find recipe here), which we placed in individual bowls.   The mix was a huge hit, a perfect balance of salty & sweet with popcorn, pretzels, red smarties, and sprinkles topped with white chocolate. I just can’t resist this stuff…so addicting, so don’t keep it around your house for long.

Cherry Chip is my all time favorite cake flavour and the perfect cupcake for Valentine’s day. Add a little pink frosting and sprinkles with these cute DIY toppers and you have insta-valentine cuteness!  These cupcake toppers are simply toothpicks with conversation heart stickers stuck on top.  So easy right?! IMG_5486

Other treats we indulged in were chocolate dipped pretzels, pretty sugar cookies, strawberries and heart-shaped watermelon.  IMG_5510

After our tummies were stuffed with pink, love and sugar, we played this cute sweetheart tic tac toe game which is so incredibly easy to create.  I placed red washi tape on the floor, and used conversation hearts for playing pieces…”I Luv You” &” Text Me” were the X’s & O’s.

It was a no-brainer that we would have to record this amount of love, sugar and fun, so a photo op was an obvious MUST!  This is another quick DIY project, using the sweetheart and lip stickers.  I used wooden skewers and stuck the stickers to the end for a simple and fun photo booth activity.  Again, so simple…and yet another fab use for stickers.

We had a blast celebrating love with this sweetheart-themed party!
